Ingredients

Rim and garnish
  • 0.5 Cinnamon sugar for the rim For dipping the rim.
  • 0.25 Fresh cranberries and a rosemary sprig for garnish Use for garnish (add to or around the drink).
Drink
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz orange liqueur
  • 1.5 oz cranberry juice
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz maple syrup
  • Ice For filling the glass and shaking.

Method

Rim the glass
  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a glass, then dip the rim in cinnamon sugar to coat. Visually aim for an even, lightly sugared ring.
Chill and fill with ice
  1. Fill the prepared glass with ice. Keep the glass cold so the drink stays bright and crisp.
Shake the margarita
  1. Shake tequila, orange liqueur, cranberry juice, apple cider, fresh lime juice, and maple syrup with ice for 15 seconds. Stop when the shaker feels well chilled and the liquid looks frosty.
Strain and garnish
  1. Strain the margarita into the prepared glass. Garnish with fresh cranberries and a rosemary sprig, then serve.

Notes

Pro tip: for the nicest rim, make sure the lime-moistened rim isn’t dripping before dipping into cinnamon sugar. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 24 hours, then shake again with fresh ice; do not freeze.
