Ingredients

Fruit kabob components
  • 2 cup fresh strawberries hulled and halved if large
  • 2 cup fresh blueberries left whole
  • 2 cup large marshmallows or white grapes for threading
  • 12 wooden skewers or bamboo picks use 12 for 12 kabobs

Equipment

  • 1 wooden skewers or bamboo picks

Method

Prep the fruit
  1. Wash and prep all fruit by hulling the strawberries and leaving the blueberries whole.
  2. Halve any large strawberries so each piece threads neatly and looks plump.
Thread the kabobs
  1. Thread each skewer in a repeating pattern of 1 blueberry, 1 marshmallow, and 1 strawberry.
  2. Repeat the pattern 2–3 times per skewer depending on skewer length so the sequence stays uniform and patriotic.
  3. Line completed skewers on a serving platter or tray in a neat row for an even presentation.
Chill and serve
  1. Refrigerate the kabobs until ready to serve, up to 2 hours ahead.
  2. Serve chilled as a grab-and-go party appetizer or dessert.

Notes

For the cleanest “little flags” look, keep pieces uniform in size—halve large strawberries evenly and thread each skewer the same number of repeats. Store in the refrigerator up to 2 hours for best texture; don’t freeze because marshmallows can weep and blueberries may soften. For a lighter option, swap the marshmallows for white grapes for a fruit-only skewered version.
